I like using sound-bites in my AMVs and I thought it would be fun to splice together a bunch of funny ones. But if I was to do that I had to pick a common theme. The easiest one to do was of corse perverted dialogues becouse it is in virtually every series. After I decided that, I had to find a song. This is what prevented me from doing this vid for a while. I couldn't think of anything that would do it justice. I knew I needed an upbeat instumental or a techno with few or subdued lyrics. I was trying my hardest to force something from the Gorillaz or Amon Tobin. I was verry tempted to use Starshine by the Gorillaz but I thought It would drown out the dialogue and I needed the song and dialogue to complement, not rape and murder eachother. I put off this project until I could find or remember a useful song. Then one day, for whatever reason, I remembered the song "weapon of choice." I think it was when I was at the food court in the mall, it came on and I felt like jumping on top of my table and dancing just like Christopher Walkin did in the original music video. I hadn't heard it in a long time but I knew it would work. It's upbeat and the lyrics are in such a low key that thay won't disturb the dialogue.

This AMV was harder to make than it looks. When I took a sound clip from a dvd I needed the video length to correspond to the speach length. You'd be surprised at how many dialogues and scenes didn't last the same length. (In other words, the character's last word's last syllable would end on the very begining of the next scene.) Usually it was the dialogue that would overlap a split-second into the next scene. I had to keep the part of the scene that corresponded to the dialogue and cut off the rest. Then I would have a scene that had a corresponding dialogue that lasted a tiny bit longer than the scene. I had to find ways to level them off so that there wouldn't be little gaps between the scenes. I usually dealt with it by slowing down the very last part of the scene clip to make it match the length of its dialogue.

I also shortened a lot of the scenes so that I could cram as many scenes in the AMV as possible. It was fun finding dialogue and pauses to cut out of the scenes and trying to keep all of the payoffs just as funny.

P.S. Yes that's the real music video at the very end.
