Download Anime ?
I don't have the ability or the equipment to make my own source footage on my computer. I just got this program that will let me make music videos. I got this really great idea for one. But unless I download stuff from the internet, I will never have the chance to make a music video. Can I post it if I give credit where I got all my footage? Otherwise, I could always post it under a different name and not give credit and no one would ever know... Everyone always re-uses the same scenes anyway.
Please?

There are a few problems with that:
1. The quality wont be as good as it should be
2. For the most part it is illegal to download animes.
3. Most people here frown on such things.
My advice:
1. Buy or rent or even borrow anime from friends.
2. If you cant capture footage. Just use a dvd ripping program to rip the footage.
3. If you must download animes, use kazaa or another file sharing program.

1)You are always free to list your AMVs
2)If you're paying for donut hosting, I don't think it matters about your AMV source as long as you match the content regulations
3)I'd try to avoid using downloads as much as possible, they look pukey when you render your final distribution version and look blocky and nasty on con projectors
4)Don't do it from other peoples' AMVs, especially those of us who like to colour warp or do other heavy effects. We *CAN* tell if you use our clips and *will* get pissed if you don't ask first.
5)That being said, it never hurts to get in touch with a creator and ask. Some of us are nice and will help you get stuff.
6)Asking where to get clips violates forum rules.

Re: Download Anime ?
Here is my recommendation, then. Download a video. Find a song that is the same length as the video. Replace the original music with the new song. Claim the new song/video combination as your own. Continue claiming that all videos use the same scenes.unicorn373 wrote:Everyone always re-uses the same scenes anyway.

the scenes that I have aren't too bad at all in my opinion. Obviously, no, I don't plan on using anyone else's effects, as that would be wrong and a dead giveaway. The majority of my stuff I did get off oav movie type files and openings I downloaded off a file sharing program. Maybe a little from this one website that appeared to be designed just for this purpose. Quality is average at worst than one would see anywhere else on this site.
I'm not trying to be a bad person! I would just like to make a video with some stuff! I don't want to be a thief, I'll gladly credit everything!
I made a vid for myself, and then I would like to share it with the world if they want to see it. I don't think it's that bad or evil.

DVD Ripping Programs, that's easy.
Head on over to Doom9, go to 'Downloads', then the 'Main Software Page, then sail on down to the Descrambling/Ripping tools. From there, take your pick. DVDDecryptor and Smartripper are both good, though I believe Smartripper is more popular.
For more in depth info about DVD footage and how to use it, read the Guide to All Things Audio and Video, it's quite useful.
Hope this helps.
