ok, i just saw the 1st episode of FlCl. now i dont mean to sound dumb, but what the hell was that!?!!?!?!?!?! im so confused, it physically hurts me. can anyone clear it up? or should i just wait and watch?

Well, you could watch the director's commentaries of the episode since it may explain some of the stuff.

not really, im watching it on Adult Swim, the greatest move made by any broadcasting company since reality tv. Bless Ted Turner!

poor you ... you need to watch it in japanese ... harukos voice actress was chosen before her character was completed. she she was built partly around that actress. On the DVD's theres a voice over conentary that explains a lot fo stuff. i suggest watching that. As for watchign it, finish what you started, you may like it a lot in the end. But be warned, you saw episode 1 ... it gets a lot weirder then that.

I'd personally suggest watching the whole series and then rewatching it before asking for help. You may luckily still have questions, but you'll have a much better grasp of the series then.

Episode 5 has some of the greatest action ... but the uber mindfuck is episode 4 ... exspecialy if you see that first before you watch any other real anime.

I hated FLCL the first time I saw it.

I had to watch it twice after that before it finally *clicked* with me and now it's a favorite.
