  • Comments: Shin Hatsubai video #22 was a case where two conflicting ideas started running in parallel while I was clipping source. As was not the case with the Strato/Nadia combo, both of the songs were something I was listening to all the time, so it seemed natural to just declare it a doubleshot video and let it roll. The really cool part is that they're the same length (almost exactly) and have mostly the same feel, but the videos came out totally different. This is the loosest editing I've ever done in terms of clip length, but even though there are a few parts that don't make sense, most of it works pretty well.

I did this video at an odd hour of the morning after completing the In Flames vid immediately above (video #21, 'indirect'), because I wanted to get the mixdowns done and onto CD for the BAS showing that night. It didn't happen, so I got acidotic on Coke for nothing. The song here isn't really on an official CD from Hypocrisy -- or wasn't when I did the video; it eventually made it onto their 2002 CD Catch 22 -- it's a bonus track on a bonus CD that came with the digibox of 10 Years of Chaos and Confusion.

Peter says "fuck" way too fucking much in this song (for public exhibition anyway; as any metalhead will attest there is no such thing as saying "fuck" too fucking much), or I would surely distribute it to conventions as how to do violent music with violent images.

Shin Hats Self-Grade: B. Excellent video quality, but the concept is a little lacking, and anyone can tell I did this on no sleep at an odd hour of the morning.

This video is back online via an indirect link at megaupload.com. You'll have to jump through a couple hoops to get it, but if the page is not there, let me know, as this usually means that nobody's downloaded the file in the last 30 days and it got deleted.
