This is something I've wanted to do for a while now, from the start I just wanted to do an interesting look at kiki's life, maybe take a diffrent look at it than most have, and focus more on the town and her "living" than her actually falling inlove or something.
This was started for 2 reason's.
1. I wanted to do something special for my girlfriend on Valentines day and her favorite anime is Kiki's Delivery Service.
2. I love Yellowcard and I love this song.
I love this video,
For some reason I can't get over the fact that I think it's my best work yet, even though it was done in the least amount of time (I think I worked hard on it for 2 nights) I probably have around 15 hours of solid editing in it.
But I really tried to put my heart into it, and tell a great story, with a great song.
You'll notice as you watch, the most complicated "effect" in the entire video is a fade, there are no other effects. Basicly because I wanted to tell a story, and have you follow with the story without being too distracted by effects. That's also a bit of a change for me, I usually have effects in my video's (my last had quite a few) so it's quite diffrent for me not to have any what-so-ever, and in many ways, a bit more complicated.
You may also notice I cut the song from the original 3:50 to about 2:30, that's mainly because I didn't want to bore the viewer, and I ran out of footage pretty fast without reusing (which I still did reuse one scene, if you can find it, you get a lolly pop!).
The intro of the video I needed to have start out slow, and even though I had to ignore some of the cuts, I think it was ultimatly worth it. You get a much better grasp of what's going on, so when it DOES start to get faster you know what's happening.
The ending isnt something I had in mind from the start, but I think it ends on a note most kiki video's don't. You'll have to wait and see what it is, I don't want to spoil anything.
I hope you all enjoy this, I really put alot of heart into it, and while it was made rather quickly, I think you should all see how much was put into this...
This is dedicated to my Girlfriend Nicole, and also one of the biggest yellowcard fan's I know =] (afterall she did get me into the band).
I love you Nicole,
Happy Valentine's Day.
