Good evening hippies, and thanks for checking out my new video.

This one is aimed primarily at Russian audiences. If you are not Russian however, fear not - the video upload includes 'soft' subtitles that you can turn on and off, and you can also preview the video on youtube here:

The video itself is a pretty straightforward and unpretentous take on a new song from one of my favourite Russian rap/alternative artists, Noize MC, who released it online just two weeks earlier. As soon as I heard it, I had to question whether he might've been watching Haruhi as he wrote it - the thematic resemblance is uncanny! It will be part of his new album which, by the way, will be released free online at the end of this week here: http://thankyou.ru/music/hip-hop/noize_mc/albums/novyi_albom

Otherwise, nothing pretentious here! For one, a BIG WARNING ABOUT SPOILERS - and besides the fact that there's spoilers, there's also the fact that the video relies on a viewer actually knowing what's going on. There's a lot of not-so-subtle references to the anime's story that will completely go over your head if you haven't watched Haruhi. In fact, if you haven't watched Haruhi, don't watch this video, period.

Technically, the video is also really simple and not much to write home about. Other than some basic filtering to get the colours and textures of certain shots to match up, and a bit of other tweaking to match up the dynamics, it's all pure cut-and-fade editing. It's not gonna win any technical awards, and by design, it's pretty basic.

However, those of you who have an interest in Russian alternative/rap, love Haruhi and don't mind oldschool editing (yes, all 5 of you) - you might get a kick out of this one.

    Thanks for watching!
