This is a pretty linear video that tells the story of Kenichi and Tima from the 2001 movie Metropolis. Instead of adding lots of stunning effects, I just tried to go with the music and use only subtle fades and transitions.
If you take a look at the lyrics, you'll probably understand why I decided to abandon the idea of exact lyric sync straight away. They are quite absurd to say the least, but still there is a certain romantic scifi feeling to them. That's why I thought the combination could work, but judge for yourselves.
A funny coincidence is that as I was working on the video, I found out that our local animation festival had Metropolis in its programme. I got to see it in theatre! Wow!
