Good evening hippies,
In brief - this is my first AMV in almost two years, and it's essentially an athmosphere/mood video that tries to capture some of the strange feel and pacing of Kara no Kyokai, with the accompaniment of progressive/industrial music by OSI, a "project with band aspirations" led by Jim Matheos (Fates Warning) and Kevin Moore (ex-Dream Theater, Chroma Key). In a nutshell, what I'm trying to show in the video is some of the aspects of the series' main character of Shiki, who (refreshingly enough) is basically a serial killer whose anger, confusion and inner emptiness lead her to kill - whether for challenge, out of fear, or due to a strange romantic obsession with the series' male lead, who seems undeterred by Shiki's disturbing nature.
The video is 5 minutes long and paced rather slowly, so it might test some people's patience, but I hope it rewards the patience of those who do stick around - I'm personally proud of the outcome, and people who enjoy heavy, moody and atmospheric stuff with old-school editing should probably like this one.
Thanks for watching!
And if you liked it, or even the sources - I encourage you to check out the 'outtake' track that accompanies this project - Price in Blood, a short video which uses part of a song that was originally supposed to be used in this video - I changed my plans after
