This is a video that almost didn't get made. I had had a lot of problems with my new computer: faulty power supply, bad RAM, Windows Vista and so on. In mid-May I had the thing running at last, but Animecon V and Otakon deadlines of June 1st were getting very close. It took me one week to come up with a feasible idea and prepare the materials, which left two weeks to work on the actual video. Five days before the deadline the video was finished and uploaded.
There is some hiss in the audio, but I don't think there's a better quality source available. Blame the 1960s recording technology. The song itself is probably horribly overused, which is why I didn't even check the Org catalogue to not get discouraged.
Jimi Hendrix himself claimed that the lyrics had nothing to do with drug use, but for the purposes of this AMV I stuck with the LSD trip interpretation. ;) Even if Osaka isn't necessarily an addict, the way her mind wanders in its own little worlds does make you suspect sometimes.
Trivia: The credits sequence background music is from Ismo Alanko's classic Suomipop hit "Taiteilijanelämää" (Artist's Life). It has a line in its lyrics about munching a few too many mushrooms, and that's where it all connects...
