Every Little Thing is awesome! (aka ELT), Naomi Tamura. Also why not check out Mad Soldiers (they did most of the soundtrack for Gravitation)...I listen mainly to the aforementioned, Utada Hikaru, Megumi Hayashibara and Maaya Sakamoto... :D

Yoko Kanno. Damnit, how can you not list Yoko Kanno!

She does a little something in EVERY genre... Okay, so maybe she's not a SINGER, but she's still awesome.

Expect that just about every good Japanese VA has their own singing career on the side. And in the case of TM Revolution, a singer that does voice acting on the side.

I really love Masami Okui. Yes, it started out as wondering who complemented Megumi Hayashibara so well in Slayers and I grew to love her singing. I can't decide whether I like her or Megumi's singing better.

Other notables of mine to add include: Larc En Ciel, Move, Coco (yeah, I like the 80's), Shinohara Tomoe, Morning Masume, and Rina Chinen.

Look for their "Super Best Files 1995-1998" compilation. Good stuff.
